We inform you that the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has announced the 2022-2026 European Aviation Safety Plan (EPAS).
The main highlights of this 11th edition plan are:
· 19 new research projects for innovative technologies (remote flight training, risk assessment of complex systems, etc.);
· a new rulemaking task is to create a European digital pilot license system;
· in the field of drones (unmanned aerial vehicle systems), several concepts, platform architectures and practical demonstrations continue to be developed rapidly across Europe;
· the strategic priority “Environmental protection” has been strengthened. Initiatives include actions to increase CO2 efficiency, prepare for electric and hybrid propulsion technologies, sustainable aviation fuels, carbon offsets, as well as eco-labeling, among others.
