PROTECTION OF PERSONAL DATA

DUE TO A DATA SECURITY BREACH

Public Transport Competence Agency (hereinafter – TKA) informs that in 2023 May 8 identified a cyber incident in TKA’s information systems. A Cuba Ransomware type cyber attack has been carried out. Categories of personal data, the security of which may have been violated – name, surname, date of birth, gender, personal identification number, residential address, telephone number, e-mail address of employees/interested parties. Currently, TKA is investigating the circumstances, has taken security measures and is making every effort to find out the causes of the Incident, assess the consequences, and prevent the threat of cyber incidents in the future. The cyber attack was stopped by technical means, the affected equipment was isolated, and the spread of the malicious code was completely stopped.

There are currently no negative consequences and risks for the rights and freedoms of individuals. There is no data that the possibly leaked personal data of data subjects has been made public or their confidentiality has been otherwise violated, but the possibility of this in the future is not ruled out. TKA informed the State Data Protection Inspectorate, the National Cyber ​​Security Center under the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of Transport, and the European Aviation Safety Agency about the cyber incident.
